Vocal recording software for rapping
Work with him to help him achieve his best performances. Track as many takes as you can of each verse, chorus, adlibs, whatever. Listen to similar tracks to help you get a better idea of what the artist wants to accomplish Listen to his favorite artists/rappers and try to pinpoint his style of rap. Of coarse this is if you can get your hands on hardware, with plugins it wont be a big deal. If you change your mind it will be harder to fix any overcompression and such. My advice is don't track through a preamp, compressor and eq preset (hardware wise) once you track with a hardware chain like this the sound will be printed to the track. Depending on the type of "sound" the artist is looking for, can help you decide what effects you can use (autotune, reverb, delay). Personally I find great uses for Avids stock plugins, but Renaissance EQ by waves is good, CLA compressors are good to also by waves. Some of these plugins can be demo'ed so you can complete the job. Lots of plugins out there can also help emulate that studio vintage sound. 2 no not really, unless you want a specific sound like a warn vintage tone, but we are talking a hevy investment in gear, think Neve, API, SSL. To start, your setup is more than sufficient for what you need to accomplish, if you can get your hands on a good preamp, do so. The questions your asking can be somewhat answered in a book, but a lot of people here have some great advice. *Microphone- Rode k-2 ( i do not know which tube is in it already)ġ- Do you have any favourite tube that goes with the rode k2?Ģ- Do I really need a mic preamp or should I get decent results with the one in the audio interface?ģ- What kind of plugins do you use to EQ, Compress, other effects etc.?
